Admissions Process
Feb1Deadline for Applications
The MS in Human-Computer Interaction program at Georia Tech offers students admission in only in the Fall semester. Admission cannot be deferred until the Spring semester. Entering classes range in size from 45 to 60 students from accross the state, country, and globe.
There is no advantage to having your application in early—review begins on the application due date of January 20, with most acceptance letters going out 5 to 6 weeks later. But don’t wait until the last minute either, as there are often delays in obtaining transcripts and letters of recommendation!
During the online application process you will be given a choice of MS-HCI for each of the four schools:
- Interactive Computing Track: Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction (College of Computing)
- Industrial Design Track: Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction (Industrial Design)
- Digital Media Track: Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction (Literature, Media, and Communication)
- Psychology Track: Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction (Psychology)
Students may apply to enter the program through any one of the four participating units, the choice of which usually reflects that student's intended area of specialization and general background. Students with diverse and eclectic backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including those with previous work experience. In fact, about half of our students have worked for anywhere from one or two up to 10 or 15 years before joining us.
